The beautiful chaos of three under five

Honestly? Some days I feel like I'm running a small, very loud startup out of my kitchen.

Three kids. Ages 1, 2, and 4. One cake business. A calendar that never stops. And me, drinking tea I forgot about two hours ago.

People ask me how I do it all, and I never know what to say. Because the truth is, I don't. Not all of it. Not well. Not at the same time.

What I actually do is pick the three things that matter today and let the rest wait. Some days that's a morning full of treat orders and a sink full of dishes. Some days it's closing the laptop at 2pm because the baby needs me more than my inbox does.

And I'm learning that both of those days count.

I used to think slowing down meant I was falling behind. Like if I wasn't producing, building, checking things off, I was somehow wasting the season. But this season is teaching me something different. Maybe the season I'm trying to rush through is preparing me for what I prayed for.

Lower the bar, then lower it again. A fed family. A safe home. One thing moved forward. That's a win. Everything else is a bonus.

And can we talk about systems for a minute? Meal prep isn't glamorous, but future-me is always so grateful to past-me for the tray of baked chicken and the chopped veggies sitting in the fridge. It's not the big moves. It's the small, boring, faithful things.

Motherhood changed the way I think about ambition. I don't love my business less because I have kids. If anything, building Kabsykreations during nap times and after bedtimes has made me more sure of why I'm doing it. My kids get to watch their mom build something. Even if they also watch me fall asleep on the couch at 8:30. 😂

You can trust God and still take action. You can pray about the decision and then make the decision. You can surrender the outcome without surrendering your responsibility to participate.

If you're in the thick of it too — the crumbs, the chaos, the cold tea — you're in good company here. This is where I'll be sharing what I'm actually learning while I'm living it: motherhood, meal prep, building a business, and all the life in between.

So tell me — what season are you in right now? A building season, or a slowing-down season?

I used to think faith meant having a plan. Like, a real plan. The kind with timelines and spreadsheets and backup options for the backup options. I'd pray, make my list, and then wait for God to hand

I Stopped Cooking Like I Have Free Time

There was a season when cooking felt like self-care. I'd put on music, chop things slowly, try a new recipe just for fun. I don't remember her. These days, dinner is a math problem I solve at 5 p.m. w
